Highly Recommended. Beautifully styled inside and out, and a great drive, too. Holds its value on the secondhand market, so 100% value for money.

Road Test
The A4 is classy yet classless - it doesn't badge you like a BMW and is increasing in popularity as a result. Build quality is exceptional, cabin space is generous and its well-bred looks are guaranteed to turn heads. Quattro models have four-wheel drive, giving excellent roadholding as well as sharp steering. The manual gearbox is light and precise, the automatic alternative is just a little bit slower and all but the 1.6 engine offer superb performance. Especially with the diesels, running costs will be low but parts remain pricey.
Positive Points
- Discreetly elegant 3 Series alternative
- Tauter and more responsive handling than previous A4
- Refined cabin is roomy for four
|
Negative Points
- 1.6 engine works hard in this heavy body
- High new prices, starting at over £18k
- Low-speed ride is slightly too firm
